Avenida Liberdade near our hotel
The first of many stops to consult maps that happened over 2 weeks of walking in Portugal and Spain
Praça de D. Pedro IV – Teatro Nacional D. Maria II
Lisbon street with Castelo Sao Jorge on the hill behind it.
Praça de Dom Pedro IV
Tiled sidewalk
Porto – Sao Bento Train Station
A portion of the tiled mural in the station. I just loved her come hither look.
Our hotel had the most amazing staircase.
Kiosk in front of the Camara Municipal or Porto Town Hall
Looking down the main street close to our hotel – beautiful wide boulevard lined with amazing buildings.
A closer look at the beautiful buildings showed that they were derelict with broken windows on the upper floors and shops on the ground floor.
Wonderful dinner the first night in Porto complete with a flight of Ports to taste.
One of the first things we did in Lisbon was go to Basilica dos Mártires to get our Camino Credntials – the passport we had stamped at each stop along the way as we walked.
Our first Portuguese dining experience.
Clerigos Tower and the red tile roofs of Porto
Doesn’t look like much but the lady who ran it was sweet and the food was good.

No photos allowed but we managed a couple.
We took a couple of photos in the livraria before shouts of “NO photos” bombarded us.
At the end of a long days sight seeing we headed down here looking for a restaurant for dinner.
